Do I need a referral?

No referral is required to see an Osteopath, but doctors (under certain circumstances) can refer you to see an Osteopath under the Enhanced Primary Care Scheme or via the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Will it be covered by Medicare or my health fund?

Osteopathy is covered by most health funds when you have Extras cover. The amount of rebate will depend entirely on your insurer and level of cover and it is best to check with your health fund prior to attending your appointment. We have a HICAPS terminal, which allows for on the spot claiming.

Medicare will not usually cover appointments unless your doctor believes you qualify for the EPC scheme and has referred accordingly.

What are your fees?

Initial consultation (40mins) – $100

Subsequent Consultation (40mins) – $90

Concession fees are available for Health Care Card holders.

What are your opening hours?

At Osteofit, we understand that life gets busy and looking after yourself often comes at the bottom of the ‘to-do’ list. We try to make accessing appointments easy by being available out of work hours and on Saturday mornings. Have a look at our online booking system, or contact us to find a time that suits you!

Will I need to undress?

Sometime it is necessary for us to see the body part we are dealing with, to make a thorough assessment. If this makes you uncomfortable we are more than happy to work through light, comfortable clothing, just let us know!
